A new era in Houston is officially underway. The Rockets shipped James Harden off to Brooklyn in exchange for a massive package including Oladipo, and he will make his team debut Monday vs. the Bulls. Oladipo blossomed into a two-time All-star as a member of the Pacers, but he was limited to just 55 games over the past two seasons after suffering an injury. That said, he looks to be fully recovered through his first nine games this season, averaging 20.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. He’ll have the opportunity to operate as one of the primary scorers for the Rockets moving forward.
He will likely be asked to carry a larger workload than usual in his first game. John Wall has been ruled out with a knee injury, and he led the Rockets with a usage rate of 37.3% in his only game without Harden this season. However, Eric Gordon and DeMarcus Cousins are both listed as probable, so they should make their return to the lineup.
