The Washington Football Team has many holes to fill, but quarterback may be one they address first via the NFL Draft. Washington’s first pick comes in the 19th slot of the first round, and they will have to trade up should they want one of the top pivots that will be selected in 2021. Trevor Lawerence, out of Clemson, is the consensus number one pick going to Jacksonville, while many believe the New York Jets will take BYU’s Zach Wilson with the second pick. The 49ers could take Justin Fields out of Ohio State with the third pick, followed by North Dakota State’s Trey Lance going to New England if they try and move up and trade to get Atlanta’s pick. Mac Jones out of Alabama rounds out the top five quarterbacks available in the draft. Washington finds themselves in this position after releasing Comeback Player of the Year, Alex Smith earlier this month, a move that saved the club $15 million.
Washington is currently +280 to win the NFC East on FanDuel Sportsbook.
