New DraftKings and FanDuel Company Name: The Obvious Candidates
With two two-syllable names, It would be easy to just take the first syllable from one and add it to the second syllable of the other.
This seems like the most natural new name, and it really does roll off the tongue. DraftDuel.org, however, is already owned by a DFS promoter, who is probably getting some good action with these rumors circulating.
This is the other easy one, but really, it just doesn’t sound or read well. It makes me think of “fangs” and “spankings” and speech impediments and British people that see “f” sounds when they mean “th” sounds. “Who does he fink he is!?!”
The Other Contenders
These are ones that actually make some sense, but aren’t ones you’d instantly think of when considering the merger between DraftKings and FanDuel.
I like this combo, but something tells me the one douche at DraftKings (pick one!) that came up with the name won’t let this one fly, since it has more FanDuel than DraftKings. But it really does sound good and it makes sense!
This sounds like someone is just listing things that really aren’t related in any shape or form. “Draft.. Duel… Kings… Tampons… Zodiac… Lawnchair…”
The Longshot Company Names
Finally, here are a few possible names that might make sense to us, but notsomuch to the big-money owners of both DFS giants.
It’s still royalty! I’d look this up in my browser to see if someone already owns it, but I’m afraid I might end up at a questionable site.
