Irish Boxer Takes On Mob Of Turkish Vendors, Wins
It happened in Istanbul, Turkey when Irish-Kuwati boxer Mohammed Fadel Dobbous was on vacation, and was attempting to buy bottled water at a small market.
According to Turkish TV, he opened the case where the water is stored, and several bottles fell out. For some reason this enrages the shopkeeper, whop attacks Dobbous with a stick. Other nearby vendors rush to shopkeeper, and all begin attacking Dobbous, most with makeshift weapns (chairs, sticks, one cooler lid).
But the vendors picked the wrong tourist. Dobbous, who is training to be a boxer, took on the entire mob, and beat them back. Including clocking one guy who hit the pavement, then staggered away to be sick.
When asked if he was scared, he said: "No, no I wasn't. I was more suprised."
And the pugilist remained unperturbed, despite the fact many of the gang were armed.
"They should fight like men," he said. "You don't have to come at me with weapons. Come at me with your hands."
Dobbous reported that he suffered a bruised hand and dislocated shoulder, the latter injury occurring when someone hit him from behind with a stick. He also lost his watch and a gold chain.
The Turkish guy who hit the pavement with his face also lost some teeth.
