The 2016 Presidential Election Betting Odds
At this point, you're probably sick of reading about who our next President will be. In fact, after more than a year of constant news coverage, you might be feeling like you've wasted a lot of time fretting over the near daily undulations of a race that is shaking out much the way any sane person would've expected given the candidates' disparate backgrounds in politics. Hillary's going to win this thing, if not by a landslide, very safely. And though you can't get back the hundreds of hours spent combing over polls and watching campaign reps spin controversies on TV, you can still make some money on this election, and as we all know, time is money. So, ya -- here's how you'd do that...
WORST BET: General Election (Hillary -500, Trump +500)
Hillary's the favorite and Trump's losing ground thanks to yet another Comey letter -- which was his only hope just a week ago. If he wins this thing, you'll be rich, sure, but you'll also be living in the world resembling Biff Tannen's alternate timeline Hill Valley hellscape. Betting the general election is a lose/lose.
BEST BET: Georgia (Hillary +500)
Georgia has been polling closely this entire election, and seeing as the most recent numbers suggest Trump only had a slight edge before Sunday's FBI bombshell, Comey's letter could be enough to make up the difference for Clinton -- especially because Gary Johnson has been picking up steam in the Peach State as of late.
