Terminal Star Wars Fan Gets Viewing Of ‘The Force Awakens’
I'm tired of all the stories about senseless violence, narcissistic pseudo-celebrities and ANYTHING about an election that is still a year away. So it's refreshing when somebody does something awesome for someone who deserves it. If you have even a passing acquaintance with our site, you'll know that we're all totally geeked to see the new Star Wars movie. Being in the minority of SportsGrid columnists that can remember seeing the original when it opened in theatres, I am in possession of two passes for the all-day AMC marathon. But I know it's just luck that I'm in a situation to do that.

Daniel Fleetwood, a 32-year-old Star Wars fanatic from Houston was given 2 months to live last July, and feared he'd pass before seeing the new movie. His wife started the #ForceForDaniel campaign to get him into a early screening, and older alums like Mark Hamill and Peter Mayhew along with newer ones like Daisy Ridley and John Boyega backed their efforts. Then last night JJ Abrams called to let him know the film was coming to him. And today, Fleetwood got to see a non-final cut of the movie. No word on what he thought of it (those Disney nondisclosure agreements are probably airtight, no matter who you are), but good for him, Disney, LucasFilm, and the Rebel Alliance.
