11 Athletes We Would Have Loved In Their Prime On Social Media
The explosion of social media in the past decade changed the world (see Arab Spring), as much as it changed our own personal lives (see Mama Gonos’ Facebook page).
One thing it definitely has done is made the world a much smaller place, considering we can now have instant discussions with numerous people from around the world at one time – without using a phone and a big long distance bill!
By making the world a smaller place, we have become much closer to athletes and celebrities than we ever were in the ‘90s or earlier. That can be a good thing – like Kevin Durant coming out to play flag football with you because of the NBA lockout:
Got a game tonight in Stillwater!! I need a deep threat!! RT @KDTrey5: This lockout is really boring..anybody playing flag football in Okc..

Connecting with athletes on social media has also been a bad thing. Just ask Arian Foster about Fantasy Football!
Unfortunately, athletes didn’t have social media back 10 years ago – and in the century before that.
Double-unfortunately, we didn’t get to interact with a lot of amazing sports personalities back in their prime! We got to see what guys like Chad Johnson, Hunter Pence and Logan Morrison can do on social media, but there are some great ones we missed!
