Kris Humphries’ Wedding To Kim Kardashian Made The Couple…Wait, How Much Money?!
The Nets' Kris Humphries got married to Kim Kardashian yesterday. People want to know things about this wedding, because the bride has an impossibly curvaceous figure. And so learn things we have. Like what, you ask? Well, like that the happy couple, which will undoubtedly be so forevermore, made a killing off this wedding thing. As in, an $18-or-so-million killing. How'd they manage that? Our friends at Styleite explain:
The New York Post estimates that the reality star and her new husband made at least $17.9 million on the affair. Yes, made (not spent). How do they figure this? The couple is getting paid $15 million for the two-part TV special entitled “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event”. They sold rights to their wedding photos for $2.5 million to People, who also shelled out $300,000 for the rights to their exclusive engagement announcement. Kim and Kris also made some cash by selling rights to the bridal shower pics to OK! and getting paid to have Kim’s bacherlorette party at Tao.
Styleite's Julia Rubin adds that Kim & Kris "also got a whole lot of crap for free," all of which they undoubtedly deserve. It adds up to quite a haul for this otherwise-financially-challenged pair, and the windfall is especially big when placed in this context by CNBC's Darren Rovell:
Kris Humphries has grossed $16.9 mill in salary over 7-year career. NY Post says wedding media rights will net $17.9 mil.
Of course, the couple has found true love, which makes them wealthier than any mere monetary gain ever could, but when you're just a young couple scraping by, every $18 million helps. Perhaps Kim will be able to afford to shop at an establishment other than the Hoboken, N.J. ShopRite* for Kris' next birthday
assuming the happy couple is still together by then, but i hope not because OH MY GOD YOU GUYS I SHOP AT THAT SAME SHOPRITE SO STARSTRUCK RIGHT NOW.
*This is not meant to demean the bakery/pastry selections available at ShopRite, many of which are quite delicious.
