Atlanta Hawks vs. Charlotte Hornets Predictions and Picks
After getting off to a 4-1 start, the Atlanta Hawks have lost their last three games. Atlanta is definitely going through some shooting woes right now, and we need to move swiftly to take advantage. Per TeamRankings.com, the Hawks are ranked fifth in offensive efficiency, yet they’re ranked 29th in the same category over their last three games. When playing an under, it’s key to examine a team’s three-point shooting, and the Hawks have gone ice-cold in that category. Atlanta is last in the league in three-point shooting percentage (27.2%). However, the Hawks haven’t let their shooting woes affect them on the defensive end. Atlanta is ranked 15th in defensive efficiency on the season, yet over their last three games, their 1.018 defensive efficiency puts them fourth in the league over that span.
As for the Hornets, they’re not a very good team. Charlotte is ranked 20th in offensive efficiency (1.035). The fact that we have two teams ranked in the top-15 in defensive efficiency is a good sign, particularly if we’re looking to target the total in this matchup.
There are plenty of under trends at play here, and that’s the only way I could look to play this. FanDuel’s total is the highest in the market at 229, and I can’t get to my account fast enough to lock in my under bet. My model also projects a significant edge to the under at the current total. If you act fast, you should be able to play this at 226 or better.
The Pick: Under 229
