Back the Suns in Futures?
It’s time to hit the buy button on the Phoenix Suns. The Suns raced out to a 7-4 record to start the season, and they have seven players on their roster averaging 10 points or more per game. That’s not necessarily common in today’s modern NBA. Much of this newfound success is down to Chris Paul and his influence over the team in just a short timespan.
Two players that have benefited from Paul’s presence have been Mikal Bridges and Deandre Ayton: Bridges has increased his scoring average from nine points up to 15 points per game this season, while Ayton has improved his play on the low post with Paul getting him easy scoring opportunities closer to the rim.
Cameron Johnson has also been a nice addition to the team in a reserve role, and he’s another double-digit scorer with 12.4 points per game.
If you’re a Suns fan, you hope the team can avoid the injury bug because this is a team that has a legitimate shot to make a run in the playoffs and perhaps a conference final.
FanDuel lists the Suns at +1800 to win the Pacific Division, +1600 to win the Western Conference, and +3600 to win the NBA Finals.
