It’s time to seriously consider LeBron James as a contender to win the MVP award this season. Even at +700, he still has value considering that you can almost pencil him into the MVP race every season. When you look at the players who have shorter odds than James, none of them will qualify as the perfect candidate.
If you have a ticket on Joel Embiid, you have to be a bit concerned with his ability to stay healthy on the court. Embiid has already missed four of Philadelphia’s 18 games this season, while James, who is 10 years older, has yet to miss a single game.
Kevin Durant is another player with shorter odds, but he’s already playing with Kyrie Irving and James Harden’s superstars.
That leaves players like Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic, but their teams aren’t nearly as good as the Lakers right now, who have the best record in the NBA.
If you can find odds at +500 or better for James to win, it’s a bet that warrants some strong consideration.
