Bet the Under in Cavaliers-Grizzlies Game Thursday Night?
There is going to be some tough sledding for the Memphis Grizzlies. Without top player Ja Morant it’s going to be hard for this team to move forward without their star for at least another two weeks. The fact that they’re laying four points really speaks to the level of basketball the Cavaliers have played in Darius Garland’s absence. It’s been a bit surprising how they’ve fallen off. Garland is a good player but surprised by the impact. With he and Kevin Love missing a lot of games, the shine has definitely come off in Cleveland after an encouraging start. The big thing here is that this game is almost enough of a proof point.
With this game and some others seen lately, it seems like the sportsbooks are packing on at least a point, if not more for a team being at a rest disadvantage. Cleveland is playing on a back-to-back here and a road back-to-back at that, and it does matter to the number now. But just because the number is there does that mean that it’s inflated? Or is it a situation where believe them in its value and lay that type of ward with Memphis? The Grizzlies do not have the kind of talent that you want to be laying four points with.
The Cavs are playing a level of basketball where it’s going to be tough. Cleveland’s offense has completely evaporated. Over the past five games, they’ve scored 86, 99, 96, 83, and 94. That is just horrendous, failing to hit 100 in five-straight, but Memphis isn’t much better right now. Guess that’s why 210 is the total, a real low number. But sometimes, in the NBA, a low count is a low total for a reason. The under looks like the best play in this one.
