Has Lonzo Ball played his last game for the New Orleans Pelicans?
Lonzo Ball could have played his final game with the New Orleans Pelicans. Ball left Wednesday’s contest in the first half with an apparent ankle injury. If rumors are circulating about him being traded, maybe the Pelicans figure we should make sure to get him out to be risk-free and not push the envelope if they are looking to move him. They’ve got to figure out a trade partner, but if you get banged up, then nothing’s coming back. It’s kind of crazy to think about, but it could very well have been Ball’s last game in just his second year in New Orleans.
Golden State would be a good fit for him, and of course, it would depend on the asking price. Ultimately is Lonzo Ball a starter on all 29 other teams? No, but he’s definitely a guy that can be a contributor. He could certainly come in and be a starting point guard and a facilitator on one of the lesser teams in the league. For a better team, perhaps a facilitator off the bench to help a club trying to contend. A group in the hunt would love to rekindle some of that really nice defense Lonzo played earlier in his young career. Don’t forget Ball is only 23 and in just his fourth year in the league. Ball will be an attractive option on the market, but how much they’re asking for will depend on how many teams are seriously interested.
