Gordon Hayward finally missed the over in scoring on Wednesday against the Pacers. This guy’s been just fantastic every single night. It definitely was not for the lack of trying in the loss to Indiana, where Hayward logged 40 minutes of work and put up 14 shots. It was just an inefficient night for the former Celtic, really just an inefficient night for this team as a whole. The Hornets shot only 41 percent from the field compared to the Pacers, hitting 51 percent of their shots. Hayward hit 6-of-14 shots for almost a 43 percent field goal rate. The critical number there, though, is that the attempts are still there.
It’s worth going right back to Hayward in the props market. When you have someone that’s been good to you, and you’ve cashed out on the over five games in a row, then get one loser, you don’t have to jump ship. It’s the law of averages that when a player goes over seven of nine or six of their last seven, they’re going to drop one. Come back to Gordon Hayward in the rematch with the Pacers on Friday night. If he misses again, okay, maybe now you step away, but you’re already up on Hayward profits if you’ve been betting this guy for the last four, five, to six games that he’s been playing great for the Hornets.
