Kristaps Porzingis expected to return in 7-10 days for the Mavericks
The Unicorn, Kristaps Porzingis, should make his season debut for the Dallas Mavericks in the next week, to week and a half. According to The Athletic’s beat reporter for the Mavericks, Tim Cato, head coach Rick Carlisle made the announcement of his return on Wednesday. Porzingis was already practicing fully before the New Year following surgery on a torn meniscus.
The seven-footer’s return can’t come soon enough for the Mavs and fantasy owners. Dallas is off to a slow start of 3-4 and can really use the help inside as well as Porzingis’ sharpshooting. Despite getting hurt yet again, the oft-injured Mavericks big man remains owned in 94 percent of fantasy leagues. Porzingis’ return will eat into Dwight Powell and Willie Cauley-Stein’s playing time, although neither man is a worthy fantasy option. Porzingis will be an immediate must start in all fantasy leagues even if he starts with a minutes restriction.
