NBA Postpones Wednesday’s Game Between Grizzlies and Trail Blazers

The list of postponed NBA games continues to grow as tonight’s matchup between the Grizzlies and Blazers is the latest game added to the list. Grizzlies center Jonas Valanciunas was already in the league’s COVID-19 protocol, and there are now concerns about a potential outbreak after contact tracing was conducted. As a result, Memphis will not meet the league requirement to have eight available players for the game.
This will be the 16th game postponed by the NBA already this season.
The Grizzlies looked like they were starting to find their stride as Ja Morant has returned to the team that’s currently in the midst of a five-game winning streak. Memphis was set to play a two-game series in Portland, and at this time, it’s unclear if Friday’s game is in danger of being canceled as well.
Memphis is currently just a half-game behind the Spurs in the Southwest Division with a 7-6 record.
