Cody Zeller Returns to Practice Ahead of Schedule After Hand Injury

Cody Zeller has been cleared for full-contact practice one month after the former Hoosier suffered a broken left hand. Zeller appears to be ahead of schedule because he wasn’t expected to return to the team until the early part of February. It’s unclear if his early return means that he’ll be available to play in Charlotte’s upcoming games for the time being. Zeller played just one game this season before the injury occurred on Christmas Eve.
In other Hornets’ injury news, forward P.J. Washington picked up a sprained ankle in Tuesday’s practice and was kept out of Wednesday’s session. Washington downplayed the severity of the injury and didn’t expect to miss any games.
Charlotte’s game against Washington, which was originally scheduled for today, has been postponed.
Their next game will be this Friday against the Bulls — six days from the last time they faced an opponent.
