The San Antonio Spurs have upgraded DeMar DeRozan to probable for tonight’s matchup against the Houston Rockets. DeRozan (personal) was away from the team for two games but continued to undergo COVID-19 testing during that time.
This season, DeRozan is being asked to be a facilitator in addition to being a scorer. He’s averaging seven assists per game, which is the highest in his career.
DeRozan is likely to continue at this pace once he returns. He exercised his own player option for the 2020-2021 season and is essentially playing for a contract as he’ll be an unrestricted free agent next year. The former USC product is averaging roughly 40 fantasy points over his last 10 games, but he’ll likely play fewer minutes tonight.
The Spurs opened as a six-point favorite at FanDuel, but that number has been bet up to seven likely on the news of Derozan’s return.
As for the total, the under has been steamed down to 218 after opening at 222.
