Gabriel Landeskog hasn’t played since February 2 after being put on the league’s COVID protocol. The Avalanche captain looks like he’ll suit up against Vegas for the outdoor game on Lake Tahoe. Landeskog has been cleared from the healthy and safety list and practiced with his team on Friday. He was on the ice with the Avs on Thursday as well, so barring anything unforeseen, they will have him back in the lineup.
Landeskog only ended up missing two games, both against Vegas, because the Avs had four straight games postponed following a COVID outbreak. Colorado and Vegas are heading toward game three of four-straight facing each other in a strangely scheduled NHL season. The Avs dropped the opener 1-0 on Sunday but bounced back, beating the Golden Knights 3-2 on Tuesday. So, Colorado will go into Game 3 1-1 without their captain, hoping the veteran center can help them catch Vegas, who has four points on them in the West Division.
