Kyrie Irving out again Tuesday and unlikely to return for Nets this week
Kyrie Irving continues to be away from the Brooklyn Nets. Irving has missed the team’s last three games and may not be back anytime soon. According to Adrian Wojnarowski it’s unlikely Irving will return this week and the NBA is investigating videos of Kyrie in violation of the league’s COVID-19 protocols. Irving reportedly attended a family birthday party and was not wearing a mask.
Since Irving’s departure Caris LeVert has been on a tear. LeVert has put up 28.7 points, 7.3 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 3.0 triples over the three-game span the Nets have been without Irving. There’s no reason LeVert won’t be Brooklyn’s number two scoring option behind Kevin Durant for as long as Kyrie is away from the team.
Even if Irving returns, he may still have to spend time in quarantine after being away from the team and the revelation of these reported videos. Stay tuned.
