Luka Modrić Becomes Youngest And Oldest Goalscorer For Croatia At The Euros
Luka Modrić made history at EURO 2020 on Tuesday as he became Croatia’s youngest and oldest goalscorer at the competition with his incredible strike against Scotland to help send them to the knockout stage.
The captain had some questions asked of his capability at 35 years old and turning 36 in September. He silenced any doubt with a stellar performance against the Scots and an out-of-box goal that crushed any chances for Scotland to qualify while sending the Croatians through.
This is the midfielder’s fourth EURO competition and the third one he has scored in. His first goal came in his EURO debut against Austria on June 8, 2008. He converted a fourth-minute penalty kick which proved to be the deciding goal in the group match.
Modrić and Croatia will be back in action on Monday as they play their Round of 16 match at 3;00 p.m. EST. Their opponent will be determined on Wednesday, and you can find the odds for the matchup on the FanDuel Sportsbook.
