The New Orleans Saints just can't catch a break. Looking to make one more Super Bowl run with Drew Brees at the reins, they've been playing without superstar wideout Michael Thomas since Week 1.
Now their other offensive star, Alvin Kamara, is dealing with a surprising new injury.
This is the first news about any kind of injury, so the "not major" designation is a bit of a relief. If this is something he suffered in last week's overtime win over the Chicago Bears, he hid it well. His final carry of that game went for 20 yards.
Of course, any foot injury is going to be a big concern for a running back — especially one who handles as much volume as Kamara. He's been the leading MVP candidate among running backs on the back of 12.4 carries and 7.9 receptions per game.
It won't be time to really panic unless he misses Thursday's practice, but this is concerning news for Saints fans one way or another. They'll really need him this week if they want to take the No. 1 seed in the NFC South away from the Bucs, as FanDuel Sportsbook has the Saints as 5.5-point underdogs.
