Back the Cowboys over Giants in Crucial NFC East Clash?
It doesn’t make sense that the Giants at 5-10 are still alive in the playoffs. It really is a miracle of modern science, honestly.
When you look at this game, these teams are going in opposite directions. The Giants have looked lifeless in their past three games. They’ve lost those three games against the spread, not just straight up against the spread but by 16, eight, and four. Meanwhile, the Cowboys have won three straight against the spread by an average of 18 points. Dallas has been blowing people out.
It looks like Andy Dalton has found the fountain of youth, some kind of elixir to make him not see whatever he was seeing in Cincinnati. He’s playing great football right now. That’s why they signed him as a plan B. Granted, if Dalton’s on the field, that’s bad news for Dallas because it means Dak Prescott is out, but it’s not the worst backup quarterback situation in the league. It’s probably one of the best. Dalton has tons of experience — a lot of years in the NFL — and played in playoff games. He’s never won a postseason game, but this game with New York is kind of like a playoff game. He’s got a great situation here, though.
The Giants are just lifeless right now, and the Cowboys are playing with house money. After Dak went down and they were really struggling, everybody wrote this season off for Dallas. Now, here they are in Week 17 with a chance at the playoffs. There’s just no way you can back the Giants in this spot against a hot Cowboys club.
