Bet the over on Josh Allen’s Passing Yards Prop?
Let’s take a look at Josh Allen’s passing yards prop bet for this weekend’s playoff game against the Colts. Over at the FanDuel Sportsbook, the total is set at 295 yards. Allen has thrown for more than 297 yards three times over his past five games. Previous to that, he did go through what we would call a slump, I suppose because he really didn’t have two or three good games in a row, but here we are where he’s playing his best football of the season. Remember though, in one of those past five games; he didn’t play in the second half, which was last week. So that’s also something to consider. Allen can hit the 300-yard mark in this one, but it will depend on Stefon Diggs’ health, who did miss practice this week with that oblique issue.
That is certainly something that could affect the Bills passing game. It’s something you have to bake into this number because the two of them have been so magical this year. And yes, it’s great that John Brown is back. John Brown is a very good wide receiver, but the health of Cole Beasley, who also missed practice this week, and the health of Stefan Diggs right now push things towards the under slightly on this number.
But if both of those guys are healthy, this prop trends toward the over. That connection between Diggs and Allen has been special this year and has to be a significant factor for this call. Josh Allen should be motivated as he has a lot to prove in this game after a very disappointing year for them last year. That game against Houston was a wacky one. They had some moments where they really could have won that football game, and they let them slip through their fingers. But it was a great learning experience for a young team.
Now they come into this year’s playoffs, and they’re coming back very confident because they’ve been there before. Buffalo ended the season on a high note, and they really seem to be playing their best football on both sides of the ball. It’s hard to imagine Josh Allen, with his mediocre run game is going to turn back and hand the ball to people. He’s going to throw the football, and as great as some of those secondary guys that have stepped up have been, they still need their top weapons. Diggs is a different one. That’s not the injury we’ve had to deal with yet, so that’s why you need to pay very close attention to that when betting this prop.
