The NFL Network’s Michael Silver reported that Jared Goff has a broken right thumb. What’s surprising is that Goff managed to finish the game and still throw somewhat accurately. Viewers watching the game could see exactly when the injury occurred as Goff needed to reset the thumb back in place while on the sidelines. If Goff’s thumb was more than dislocated, then it’s likely he will require surgery.
The latest news out of Los Angeles is that Goff will look to delay any surgery with the hopes of playing this week.
Despite the Rams’ loss last week to the Seahawks, they still control their own destiny after the Cardinals were upset by the 49ers at home. Ironically, both teams will have the chance to settle the score out on the field on Sunday when Arizona travels to Los Angeles for a Week 17 showdown. Arizona also has concerns of their own with their quarterback as Kyler Murray picked up a lower-body injury on the final play of the game last week.
Despite the uncertainty at quarterback for both teams, FanDuel has wasted little time installing the Rams as one-point favorites after defeating them 38-28 on the road in Week 13.
