What to Watch For
Patriots’ defense has been stellar to start this season. They’re coming off a week vs the Washington Redskins where they forced a pair of takeaways and recorded six sacks. With a consistent offense, and a defense playing above average, this unit looks unstoppable.
Limited Ground Game:
Not much of a running game for New England to speak of – yet. Sony Michel leads the Patriots with 262 yards on 78 carries for 3 TDs. As a team all year, only one run has eclipsed 20-yards. Good thing their passing game and defense have been great.
The Giants’ defense is 31st in the league in net yards per pass attempts, giving up 9.1 yards per attempt. Probably their biggest weakness and the aerial attack is the Patriots’ ace.
For New York, Daniel Jones is projected to finish with 242 passing yards on 22 completions and 20 rushing yards on 2 carries. He averages 1.3 TDs and 1.3 INTs per sim.
For New England, Tom Brady is projected to finish with 272 passing yards on 22 completions. He averages 2.3 TDs and 0.2 INTs per sim.
Patriots to cover.
Four-star (out of four) hot trend pick here. Always tough to pick a cover when the spread is so big, but the Patriots’ defense has just been that dominant to start the year. Average margin of victory in simulations is +19.5 points.
