Play the Over in the Week 17 Washington-Eagles Game?
Unfortunately, this game between Washington and Philadelphia is not for the NFC East title. If this were for the division crown, it would just add another layer of excitement and further scrutiny of the game’s odds.
As far as Washington goes, we don’t know who the quarterback will be. That makes it almost impossible to break down this game with a whole lot of confidence. Even if we knew for sure Alex Smith was going to play; it’s still tough to call this game.
The Eagles will still have that desire to get the win again, play spoiler being out of the playoff picture. You don’t go out there looking to lose games. Philadelphia head coach Doug Peterson isn’t going to coach for a higher draft pick because Doug Pederson is still coaching to keep his job. It doesn’t seem like he should be gone, he has had some frustrating games and wacky calls this season.
The spread and moneyline are just too tough to call with all of these unknown factors, but the total looks pretty appetizing. Sitting at 43.5 and considering what the Eagles did last week on the defensive side of the ball, getting lit up by Dallas, Washington’s offense can certainly put up at least the bare minimum. On defense, Washington is an excellent team on defense. Their defense can be so explosive; they make splash plays that can create points in the other direction. Philly has shown they can score with Jalen Hurts under center. The Eagles offense can do enough on the offensive side of the ball against this stingy Washington defense. The over at FanDuel’s Sportsbook looks like a powerful play this week.
