The Washington Football Team doesn’t look like they’re far away from being a legitimate championship contender. If Washington could add a few more pieces to their secondary and some skill positions on offense, they could be a real threat in the NFC.

Washington’s biggest question right now is what they’ll do at the quarterback position. Is this a team that can improve next season with a quarterback combination of Alex Smith and Taylor Heinicke?

Washington could waste a year of potential next year if they choose not to upgrade the quarterback position this offseason.

It was a wonderful comeback story for Smith, but you have to wonder if his leg will be able to hold up for a full season. Even if you like Heinicke, nothing prevents you from keeping him on the roster while trying to acquire another quarterback, whether by trade, free agency, or decide to build for the future in the draft.
