FNTSY CSO To NY State Legislature: Get A Fantasy Sports Bill Passed Before This Session Ends
On Wednesday, Fantasy Sports For All held a press conference on the steps of New York City Hall to urge the state’s lawmakers to pass legislation that would make Daily Fantasy Sports legal. New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman declared DFS illegal back in November, and both FanDuel and DraftKings pulled their games from the state in March. Lawmakers now have seven days to get a bill passed through the Assembly and the Senate before the legislative session ends.

The FNTSY Sports Network was there, and CSO, Louis M. Maione, was one of the speakers at the event. He urged the legislature to recognize that New York is home to many Fantasy Sports companies, including the FNTSY Sports Network and RotoExperts. It is also home to millions of people who love to play both daily Fantasy games and season-long Fantasy games. Maione went on to urge the legislature do everything they can to pass the current legislation that would allow Fantasy sports to operate legally in the State of New York, saying, "we need to make sure that folks understand that this is a legal game, this is a skilled game, this is important."
With just a few days left in this legislative session, Fantasy Sports players in New York need to make their voices heard. As Mr. Maione said, "Not just the million plus daily Fantasy players, there are millions of season-long Fantasy players in New York." This legislation affects you season-long Fantasy players as well because the elected officials who make our laws don't understand that there is any sort of difference between the two. So pick up the phone and call your local state congressman, or send a letter or email to your representative in the New York State legislature and urge them to take action and work with the Fantasy Sports business community to put consumer protections in place and get a bill passed. The goal is to preserve Fantasy Sports for everyone, legally everywhere. Watch the entire press conference below.
