It has been a very interesting year for golf. We are in an awkward moment in the sport where there is no one who is better than the rest. Tiger Woods has fallen off the face of the planet. Phil Mickelson is still relevant, but hasn't won a major championship in a while. The top three golfers in the world are Jason Day, Dustin Johnson, and Jordan Spieth. Quality golfers, yet how much better are they than the rest?
Here enters Jimmy Walker. If your asking who this is... then thats exactly my point. He has been a professional golfer since 2003. However, Walker didn't win his first PGA Tour event until the 2013 Frys.com Open. Suddenly, he is out here winning PGA Championships 3 years later. Take a look at it his final putt to win the title.
Love & respect ❤️
After the win, Walker gets hugs from: His caddie His family Jason Day Rickie Fowler Jordan Spieth https://t.co/BHNC2YV7Hk
He received a hug from Jason Day, Rickie Fowler, and Jordan Speith. They may be embracing Walker, but they are only thinking about the money they lost. Especially since it's to someone who nobody has heard of. And to add insult to injury, the payout was $1,800,000. Yea I would be salty too.
So is Jimmy Walker our next great golfer? Probably not. He is the fourth-first time winner in major championships this year alone. Yea, it seems like the golf world is truly up for the taking.
