2015 Declared “MLB Year Of The Baby Catch”
We're seen a couple of them already this year, and at tonight's Cincinnati Reds game, we saw another one-handed fan catch while holding a baby:
This one was tricky because of the carom, but that didn't phase dad. Or baby, who seemed just happy to be there (kinda like the Reds). Although it brings up two questions: (1) just how safe is it to have a baby that close to the field (2015 is also becoming The Year of Fan Injuries as well)? and (2) Why is Dad's free hand wearing a fielding glove? I've brought both my kids to games and I know I needed that free hand to prevent them from doing, well, whatever the hell they want.
Hey, at least the kid got a ball out of it.
