5 MLB Free Agent Moves Fantasy Baseball Owners Are Rooting For
It’s only November, just one week after the World Series, but who says we can’t have some fun with free-agent prognostication for Fantasy Baseball purposes!?!
Pablo Sandoval to Boston
The switch-hitter will leave a tough hitter’s park in San Francisco to a great hitting park in which he can dent the Green Monster in left or wrap home runs around Pesky’s Pole in right.
Max Scherzer, Chicago Cubs
His 10.29 K/9 (third in the majors last season) along with the crazy winds at Wrigley Field and the fact he’d be facing National League teams that really haven’t seen him (a la Doug Fister last season), this could be huge! He just won’t have the same 5.12 runs of support (third in the majors) each start.
James Shields to Boston
Shields actually got 4.35 runs of support from the Royals this season, which has to be close to a career high after his days in Tampa Bay. The Red Sox ranked 18th in the majors in runs scored, but there’s no way that happens again in 2015.
Yasmany Tomas to Philadelphia
The Cuban slugger could be a boon to an aging team, and he’ll find the friendly confines of Citizens Bank Park quite welcoming!
Norichika Aoki to Texas
Would it make sense to add Aoki to the same outfield as Shin-Soo Choo? Who would bat leadoff? With Alex Rios moving on, the Rangers would do well with another top-notch table-setter.
