A DOUCHE IS BORN: SNY Host Blasts Jeter As A Clown Fraud For Doing Gatorade Commercial
Well, at least the show lives up to its Loudmouths name. Chris Carlin -- who's some sort of mixture of Mets fan and gamma radiation baby -- is upset that Derek Jeter's sponsors and franchise are exploiting his final season as an opportunity to tug on the heart strings of baseball fans around the country and make some cash.
Wait, no, that's not Carlin's problem -- he's mad that Derek Jeter is making "a ton of cash" by choosing to appear in commercials like the Gatorade Sinatra spot that went viral yesterday. That makes Jeter a fraud AND a clown? The man has spent a career deferring gratification and now he's a fraud because everyone is begging him to do retrospectives and honorary ceremonies? Geddouddaheerre.
Listen Carlin, if Pampers wanted you to do a commercial for giant baby diapers in your final year as a TV talking head employed by the other New York baseball team, you'd take 'em up on it, too. The commercials have been awesome and the farewell tour wasn't Jeter's idea, so recognize that he's an incredibly humble guy who has in no way indicated he's reveling in the attention he's received.
