Artist’s Amazing Flip Book Tribute To Kyle Schwarber and Harry Caray
Kyle Shwarber is a mortal who's not all that comfortable discussing his immortality. The rookie has been asked about his series-clinching home run vs. the Cardinals about a million times now, and he's not elaborated on it other than to say he's honored to be a part of Cubs' history.
And a part of it he is. Of course you know that the Cubs have kept the home run ball up on top of the video scoreboard where Schwarber hit it, encased in Lucite. And now his: "The Flippest", who has honored other baseball events, has made a flip-book of Schwarber and late, legendary Cubs announcer Harry Caray.
Schwarber is much more comfortable talking about the Blue Jays' Jose Bautista and his bat flip, however. Should Bautista have done it, or should he have been more subdued and "honored the game", as some have said?
“I thought it was awesome,” Schwarber said. “That was one of the best games I’ve seen in a while. It shows you how crazy baseball is and how in the playoffs little mistakes can come back to haunt you. The Blue Jays did a good job taking advantage of what they got from Texas and Bautista put a good swing on the ball.
“If it’s the middle of the season, you probably say ‘Calm down,’ ” Schwarber said. “But for him to do that right there in that spot, you’re in a state of awe.”
