Bill Murray Gives Random Fan Free WS Ticket: ‘He Kept Asking Me If I Wanted Beer And Nachos’
Bill Murray kept alive his streak of being awesome on Tuesday, as you may have heard. While entering Progressive Field for Game 6 of the World Series, he spotted a Cubs fan who had struck out at the box office trying to get a ticket.
So Murray grabbed the fan by the arm and told her that she was sitting with him.
Lifelong Cubs fan Karen Michel got the surprise of a lifetime at Tuesday’s World Series game when actor Bill Murray handed her a Game 6 ticket for the seat next to him – and she says they “really hit it off.”
“He kept offering me nachos and drinks,” Michel, 54, tells PEOPLE. “It was the funniest thing we were chattin’ like old friends!”
She says the actor noticed her walking away from the box office before the game, heartbroken, after she was unable to score last minute tickets to the game.
“I thought some people holding tickets might not show up or something, I figured I’d give it a shot but I wasn’t expecting much,” Michel, 54, tells PEOPLE. “It was crazy, Bill walked right by me, grabbed me and gave me a ticket! I said, ‘Where are we going?’ and he said, ‘You can come sit with me!’ ”
