Bobby Orr, Green Monster Pay Tribute To Derek Jeter At Fenway
Derek Jeter is so revered that they're writing columns about all the trouble he didn't get into. I guess you can really prove a negative. Anyway, when the Red Sox pull out all the stops to pay tribute to a Yankee in his final game, you know that's a special career.

Yep, Bobby Orr -- plus Carl Yastrzemski, Luis Tiant, Rico Petrocelli and other former Red Sox greats all greeted Jeter in a pre-game ceremony, as did Troy Brown and former Celtics captain Paul Pierce.
Jeter's final at-bat? a run-scoring, infield single.
Are we looking at the world with Jeter-colored glasses? Of course. Baseball probably overdid it with all the tributes. But who got harmed? Jeter will now fade softly into the good night and the Yankees will be left with fond memories and and fact that they didn't make the playoffs.
"Derek Jeter's career couldn't have ended any better." How about the Yanks in the WS? We see what we want to see and with Jeter it's roses.
