Bryce Harper More Pumped To Curse Out Umpire Than To Win Game
May 9 / Gregg Sussman / SportsGrid
As we all know by now, Bryce Harper is doing whatever he can to make baseball fun again. He's all about the demonstrative celebrations, the major bat flips, and just being entirely brash. He doesn't care about your unwritten rules nor what you think about how he plays or acts. He also doesn't care for umpires opinions of his yelling from the dugout.
During tonight's dramatic win over the Tigers, Bryce Harper was thrown out for arguing balls and strikes...for a teammate. After Danny Espinosa struck out on a borderline call, Harper yelled a few choice words from the dugout. Home Plate umpire Brian Knight took exception to being yelled at and threw out Harper.
The next batter was pinch hitter Clint Robinson, who slugged a walk off home run. Despite being ejected, Bryce Harper stormed back onto the field to celebrate. Except rather than celebrate, Harper told the umpire exactly what he was really thinking.
