Jason Castro Bat Flip Announces Astros Are For Real (VIDEO)
If you bet on the Astros making it to the World Series before the start of this season, you were probably drunk. Now, you're looking pretty smart. Team management should just be happy that after six sub-.500 years, but they seem to understand the small window that championship teams have to flourish, so they've gone after trade deadline talent (Scott Kazmir and Carlos Gomez). In return, the team and its fans are starting to believe.
Tonight against the Angels, with the score tied at zeroes in the bottom of the 9th, catcher Jason Castro (the Astro) did this:
I can't decide which was more impressive: the walkoff HR or the bat flip. The former won the game, completed a sweep of the Angels, and extended their division lead to 2.0 games, but the latter said they deserved to be on the same field as Mike Trout, Albert Pujols and the rest of the AL West. And that's what's going to take this team far into the playoffs.
