LOL: Curt Schilling Wants Elizabeth Warren’s Senate Seat in 2018
Curt Schilling became an icon in Boston in 2004 after helping the Red Sox to their first World Series in 86 years. He retired from baseball after earning another World Series win with Boston in 2007, and upon retirement he started talking really loudly about his politics.
That's when everything went to shit.

In summation, he's a lunatic. And now he's set his sights on a seat in the Senate. Specifically, Massachusetts Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren's seat.
During an interview on WRKO-AM on Monday, Schilling said that he’s considering a run against Warren in 2018.
“I would like to be one of the people responsible for getting Elizabeth Warren out of politics,” said Schilling. “She’s a nightmare. The left’s holding her up as the second coming of Hillary Clinton, Lord knows we don’t need the first.”
A vague, sweeping statement full of conjecture and opinion but no fact. It would seem odd if I hadn't spent the last year of my life listening to Donald Trump's similarly weak, ineffectual characterization of his political opposition.
Schilling went on to explain that he is choosing to run for office in Massachusetts because he's embracing the challenge.
“The bigger the challenge, the better; it’s always been that way,” said Schilling.
“I’ve never been somebody to sit around talking about getting stuff done without actually trying to help.”
That's the explanation that many men and women with political aspirations have used as justification for running for an office for which they are deeply unqualified. There is a way to make a difference without trying to unseat a Senator who - along with having been one of the most respected and trusted law professors in the country - has over twenty years of political experience.
That's not to say that no one should run against her. It just shouldn't be Curt Schilling.
Plus, Schilling is about as much of a true Republican as Trump or Ted Cruz or Mike Pence are. The distortion of the Republican Party isn't something that can be easily explained, but suffice it to say that these people aren't looking out for Americans. They're looking out for themselves.
Schilling has never held political office. He is also a racist in the truest sense of the word, a horrifyingly bad business man and he runs his mouth all over social media; posting memes and passive-aggressive partisan blog posts like a petulant middle-schooler. He can try to run on his name recognition if he wants but that's about all he has going for him. Even Trump's success can't convince me he would have a chance.
Just ask the people of Rhode Island about the nearly $90 million of debt he left for the taxpayers via his failed - and possibly fraudulent - video game venture. A lot of people in Massachusetts know a lot of people in Rhode Island. Just saying.
So as a Massachusetts native, I can say this with confidence:
Thanks for the two World Series, Curt. The Bloody Sock game is still one of my favorites. Much appreciated. Now please go away.
