Matt Albers Double Is Funnier Than Bartolo Colon’s Home Run
A few weeks ago, we crowned Bartolo Colon's home run as the defining moment of the 2016 season. The race was over and it was simply a no contest. There was nothing that could ever compete with Big Bart running around the bases without being able to contain his massive smile. Well Big Bart, wouldn't you know it already has competition. And it was in a game that he was watching live.
Matt Albers is a long time reliever for the Chicago White Sox. Before yesterday, he had 37 career plate appearances. Pitching in extra innings, Robin Ventura decided to let Albers come up and hit away. It was the big man's first at bat in almost ten years. Since relievers never get the opportunity to bat, you knew that Albers would be hacking and hacking. No one ever thought he could possibly make the kind of contact he did.

We learned from the clip that Matt Albers clearly has absolutely no idea how to slide. But man, does he know how to hustle. And how about that celebration? The pumping of the fist toward the dugout, as his teammates go ape shit.
Not only did Albers hit a double but he also wound up scoring the winning run on Jose Abreu's sacrifice fly. This allowed Albers to get the win in relief AND score the winning run.
Yeah, Bartolo, we are going to need either another home run or another family asap.
