Mets-Dodgers Game 3 Mysterious Delay, Explained
Pointless arguments, brawls involving actual wrestling moves, chairs being used as weapons -- sometimes baseball looks a lot like professional wrestling. The sport has a lot of vestigial bullshit that's found its way out of the other American pro leagues, namely, managers taking turns lodging formal complaints with umpires.
The start of Monday night's Mets-Dodgers NLDS Game 3 kicked off with drawn out exchange between Sandy Alderson, Don Mattingly and home-plate umpire Greg Gibson, who warned Matt Harvey not to seek vengeance for Chase Utley's leg-breaking slide on Ruben Tejada...or so everyone thought.
Turns out it was because the Dodgers' replay phone wasn't working.
False alarm, folks. (Still a total pain in the ass that Matt Harvey probably wasn't happy about.)
