MUST SEE: Incredible Videos Of Chicago Just After The Cubs Won Game 7
There's not very much need for editorializing here, so I'll just preface this by saying that this is apparently video from outside an apartment that's about a mile away from Wrigley Field. The recording began just moments after the Cubs clinched the World Series:
That's pretty goddamn cool. You don't have to be a Cubs fan or even like the Cubs or the city of Chicago in general to admit that hearing the entire city in celebration after a 108 year Championship drought is really special. There is nothing like being part of a moment like that if you're a sports fan. It may seem silly, we only get a few time in our lives - if we are lucky - to feel that camaraderie with strangers on the street in the city that we love.
It's an electrifying feeling that you never forget. In fifty years, those people will be able to viscerally recall what it felt like in Wrigleyville that night. (Except for the 14 idiots that were arrested, of course. There's always idiots, and they always suck.)
Here's some more incredible virtual reality closeup footage of the dense crowd of fans causing that noise that could be heard for miles away throughout the streets of Chicago. Be sure to try out the VR by swiping the video left, right, up and down as it's playing to see the views from all angles!
