Rangers Ballpark In Arlington Does Not Want You To Do The Wave
There is apparently a large segment of Texas Rangers that is very, very against The Wave being performed at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. So much so, that an anti-wave movement has popped up online, which can be viewed at StopTheWave.net.
Last night, the folks at Rangers Ballpark gave the fans what they wanted, when they provided the following very anti-wave warning to their fans at the ballpark.
The message has been met with much debate over at Reddit.com with some fans in support of the anti-wave movement:
Nothing worse then having some drunk asshole directly in front of you trying to start the wave for 4 innings. Especially during a close game.
And others offended at the notion of being told what to do after spending the type of money that they do at the ballpark:
I hate the wave, but don' tell me what to do with my $100 dollar tickets, 7 dollar beers, and 4 dollar hot dogs. I'll wave all fucking night.
And despite the profane language, it's hard not to agree with the latter's argument. While a good portion of a ballpark's attendance consists of die-hard fans, there's also a large segment filled with casual fans and young children. And if randomly standing up and sitting back down is how they want to spend their time, so be it.
