Royals' Yordano Ventura Pays Tribute To Fellow Dominican Oscar Taveras In Game 6
Royals’ Game 6 starter Yordano Ventura, a native of the Dominican Republic, paid tribute to Oscar Taveras on his cap, his glove and his shoes on Tuesday. Taveras and his girlfriend were both tragically killed in a car accident in the Dominican Republic over the weekend. The news broke in the middle of Game 5 in San Francisco, so a few players are paying homage to the infield prospect tonight.

It appears as if Ventura and Taveras were somewhat close. Here's what he told reporters prior to the game, via CBS Sports:
I know him very well. I played against him in the Minor Leagues. When we would play against each other, we'd go over to each other's houses and hang out during the Minor League season. I consider myself a friend of his, and my thoughts are with the family and of all of those who know him. It's a very difficult time. And such is life, things like this happen.
The Cardinals also paid tribute to Taveras by leaving one field light to illuminate an empty Busch Stadium tonight.
