The Brewers’ Ryan Braun Faceplant Prank Was Nearly As Good As The Faceplant Itself
You might have seen a couple nights ago when the Brewers' Ryan Braun missed a chance at an inside-the-park home run by falling on his face between third and home, delighting Reggie Miller in the process. Well, retired NBA sharpshooters weren't the only ones to derive great enjoyment from Braun's faceplant: his teammates loved it, too. And they didn't just mock him by laughing at him right after it happened; no, such a prime blooper deserves a prime response. You know, like this:
Yes, that's Braun's incident...only mapped out like a crime scene, by a couple creative teammates (pitchers Yovani Gallardo and Shaun Marcum, plus bullpen catcher Marcus Hanel) who also apparently had a boatload of free time. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Tom Haudricourt was particularly impressed with the use of netting so as to depict an airborne Braun with a tape outline. We're just impressed that the trio apparently studied the play enough that they were able to approximate the location of Braun's dives, as best we can tell, pretty well.
We already knew this Brewers bullpen was a pranky bunch, but this has to be their best yet. The only thing missing this time: Braun didn't see it himself. But that didn't matter so much, according to teammate Casey McGehee:
"That's OK if he doesn't see it. We can still laugh at it."
