The Daily Yam: Kevin Durant Goes Coast To Coast To Break The Warriors
April 12 / Eric Goldschein / SportsGrid
Welcome to The Daily Yam, SportsGrid’s newest feature, bringing you the top play from the night before, anything else you might have missed, and what to look forward to today. It’s your one-stop shop when you skipped last night’s action, and/or have forgotten what day it is. Today, we celebrate Kevin Durant's unparalleled ability to crush a team in transition.
Your Daily Yam
There were only two NBA games last night, which meant dunk pickins' were slim. No matter: When athletic teams like the Thunder and Warriors get together, good things are bound to happen. This game was actually pretty close late into the second quarter. Then Russell Westbrook and Durant teamed up for this one... and the Thunder cruised after that (via NBA):
The block was vicious, and the transition defense was non-existent. But the yam... how did the rim not shatter? Something to note: The NBA might not like the little neck-slash at the end there. Everything else -- straight gold.
What Else Happened Last Night
The Bulls continued their streak of ending other teams' streaks by beating the short-handed Knicks in overtime; the Padres and Dodgers had a bench-clearing brawl that ended in Zach Greinke breaking his collarbone and everyone was super pissed; The Tigers beat up on Toronto 11-1.
What's On Tap For Today
The Masters continues, with Marc Leishman and Sergio Garcia tied for first at 6 under as of this writing; 14 NBA games including Heat-Celtics and Pacers-Nets (and of course Pistons-Bobcats, which will be AMAZING).
Enjoy your weekend!
