Titan Of New York Radio Mike Francesa Thinks The Mets Are Copycats
On Monday, the day both players were put on the DL, the Mets downed the Padres on a game-winning hit. Then, last night, they did it again. Down by two runs heading into the eighth inning, they beat San Diego 5-4 at home.
Despite their recent success, and despite the fact that they've actually had a pretty good year in the face of numerous injuries, godfather of New York sports radio Mike Francesa would like to remind you that the Mets are still bad. Not only are they bad, in fact, but the home ballpark antics that occur at Citi Field - the playing of "Sweet Caroline," or the throwing of pies, for instance - aren't even original.
This is what it sounds like to have your parade rained on by a thick Long Island storm cloud. Oh, and in case you thought he was biased, he throws in a nice little shot at Yankees pitcher A.J. Burnett for good measure.
