Trayce Thompson Delightfully Handles His Post Home Run Silent Treatment
Trayce Thompson, younger brother of NBA Champion Klay Thompson, made his major league debut for the White Sox on August 4th, and it didn't take him long to make his mark. Thompson hit his first home run for the Sox in the 5th inning of Tuesday night's game against the Angels, helping his team to their 3-0 win.
Of course in traditional MLB fashion, the rookie was greeted with an initiatory silent treatment when he returned to the dugout. Even though he knew the drill he proceeded to grab air high fives like he was Tom Brady.
Aw. Gets me every time.
To add to the sentimentality of Trayce's fantastic first few games, here's a quote from big bro Klay to the Chicago Tribune on watching his brother's major league debut last week; which he refers to as “one of the best days of my life”.
“It was awesome seeing him in that huge stadium playing the outfield in front of all those people. It was almost surreal,” Klay said. “I know how hard he works. The minor leagues are no joke. I respect baseball players and what they do to get there...He’s been swinging a bat since he was born so I’m excited to see him up there and for his career to take off. He’s living his dream. That’s special to see.”
If Trayce keeps playing this well he just might steal his brother back from Steph Curry.
