VIDEO: Cardinals' Matt Adams Crushes The Soul Of Dodgers With Go-Ahead Blast
Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw was dominant for the first six innings of the National League Division Series against the Cardinals. Then, Matt Adams happened.
Down 2-0, Adams crushed the soul of L.A. fans with a go-ahead three-run blast over the right field wall to give his team a 3-2 lead and knock Kershaw out of the game. And he couldn’t contain himself. Over two starts, the MVP and Cy Young hopeful has coughed up 11 earned runs over 12 2/3 innings. The Cardinals must be Kershaw’s kryptonite or something. Either that or this game is stupid crazy and unpredictable. I’ll go with the latter since he’s struck out 19 over that two-game span, even on short rest.
are three outs away from another disappointing season. Maybe it’s time to bring Yasiel Puig off the bench, Mattingly?
UPDATE: Trevor Rosenthal was a bit shaky, but managed to slam the door shut on the Dodgers in the ninth inning to secure a come-from-behind 3-2 victory for the Cardinals. He forced Carl Crawford to ground out to a fielder's choice to end the game. The Cardinals advance to the NLCS for the fourth consecutive year. They face the winner of San Francisco and Washington, leaving them one step closer to an I-70 World Series.
