Watch NASCAR Drivers Try (And Fail) To Pronounce Massachusetts Town Names

There is a long and storied oral history of people around the country mispronouncing the names of Massachusetts towns. Because many of them are derived from local native American languages or are named after obscure, rural British towns, the spelling versus pronunciation conundrum comes up time and again.
If you've grown up in Massachusetts or one of the surrounding states, you've likely heard visitors and tourists struggle tremendously with the historic town names. Even after a thorough explanation, many find it hard to get their mouths to actually say the sounds.
That goes especially for those born and raised in the American south, where the accents and dialects are notably different. New Hampshire Motor Speedway decided to put some of our favorite southerners to the test when they asked famous NASCAR drivers to give some of the weirder towns a shot.
